Politics is about building society and affects us all. Everyone's everyday life is affected by the political decisions made in parliament or in the municipalities - daily. Therefore, it is important that those who make the decisions are well informed about the issues they are dealing with and listen to the residents of the municipality. We believe that the best possible results for everyone can only be achieved through discussions and cooperation.

For us in the Swedish People's Party, decision-making is based on values and ideals such as tolerance, openness and liberalism. We work for a strong Swedish identity, a vibrant bilingualism and a functioning living environment whether we live in urban areas or in the countryside.

The organization

In Porvoo, SFP has 4 local branches – Porvoo city centre, Porvoo Västra, Porvoo Östra and Porvoo Södra och skärgård. In addition, the Swedish Women's Association and the Swedish Youth also have their own local branches. The local branches are the driving force for local activities. The branches arrange events with topics that are relevant within the respective branch's area of activity. To coordinate the activities, SFP in Porvoo also has an umbrella organization, the so-called municipal organization (KO), whose board consists of members from all local branches. KO's activities focus on general issues and take a position on issues that affect the entire city area. KO is also responsible for SFP's campaign work in connection with elections.
